The Northern Cheyenne Tribal Housing Authority (NCTHA) is dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions to tribal residents of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation.

Our primary objective is to efficiently and effectively utilize all available resources to ensure the prompt and cost-effective delivery of economical housing opportunities to all tribal residents.

We are committed to preserving the rich cultural heritage and identity of the Northern Cheyenne people while also working to enhance the quality of life for tribal members located on reservation lands.

The Northern Cheyenne Tribal Housing Authority was established in the early 1960s and has since constructed over 800 homes for eligible tribal members residing on the reservation.

After significant changes in US legislation that affected vital funding sources in the mid-1990s, our focus shifted from building new housing developments to revitalizing and maintaining existing residential properties. Our organization remains committed to constructing new homes, preserving and enhancing existing ones, and implementing various programs aimed at improving the quality of affordable housing for tribal families.

We provide comprehensive homebuyer education and financial training to help empower tribal members in refining their personal financial management skills and preparing them for homeownership. Our recent housing development initiatives include a wood stove and energy efficiency program, enhancements to Hestaneo’o Park (The Peoples’ Park), and the successful transfer of more than 300 Mutual Help Homeownership units to their respective homeowners.

We continue to ensure that every tribal member in the Northern Cheyenne community has access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing options that contribute to their overall well-being and prosperity.
